Abstracts


Abstract submission guidelines and submission system is open now.

BEFORE you submit, please go through the following guidelines:

Last date for submission of abstracts to all categories is strictly  31st October 2016. No further requests will be entertained.

Registration to ISACON 2016 conference is a mandatory prerequisite for submission of abstracts in all categories.

Only ISA members are eligible to apply for any Awards / competitions. The details of Awards can be had from Hon. Secretary ISA & are also posted in www.isaweb.in.

The E Poster Presentation

Max. Allowed word count: 250 words

The abstract shall contain the following headings:

  1. Title
  2. Introduction
  3. Methods
  4. Results: One (ONLY ONE) most relevant table/ image / graph / illustration MUST
  5. Conclusion
  6. References (Two, most relevant)

What should be included In the Abstract / Poster

  1. Title: To be complete, relevant, including relevant statistical terminology
  2. Introduction: To contain Background and Aims
  3. Methods: To mention ethical committee permission, patient consent, duration of study, inclusion-exclusion criteria, sample size calculation based on power of study, randomization technique, statistical tests used including p values, tests of comparison and version of software used, Primary and secondary study criteria clearly defined, definitions of grades, scoring systems, confounding variables and limitations, if any, rescue techniques /drugs.

  1. Conclusion: To be brief and relevant
  2. References: Two relevant references (ONLY TWO) to be added

 

What would be considered for assessment and scoring by judges:

  1. to 7. above PLUS
  2. Ability to draw inferences from the results
  3. Ability to answer to judges queries

Case report Guidelines

Max. Allowed word count:                        150 words

The abstract shall contain the following, headings:

  1. Title :  Shall mention condition/management and convey what is special or unique in the report (the condition, management or outcome)
  1. Key Words: 3-5 relevant MeSH keywords
  1. Introduction: What is already known related to the case report and available evidence (literature)
  2. Case report: Brief summary of Presentation, Investigation, Preparation, Management and Outcome of the case

   (ONE MOST RELEVANT, IMAGE/GRAPH/ILLUSTATION/TABLE TO BE ADDED)

  1. Conclusion: The take home message in terms of any part of case being reported such as the investigation, preparation, management and outcome
